This study discusses the role of educators in implementing game-focused learning based on the Independent Curriculum in Early Childhood Education (PAUD). The Merdeka Curriculum prioritizes holistic, child-centered learning, and emphasizes the importance of the play experience as the main means in early childhood development. Through a qualitative approach, this study reviews strategies, challenges, and the important role of educators in designing, implementing, and evaluating game-based learning activities. The results of the study show that educators have a central role in creating a fun learning environment, stimulating creativity, and supporting children's emotional, social, and cognitive development. In addition, the knowledge and skills of educators in understanding children's characteristics and the appropriate use of games have a great influence on the success of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in PAUD. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of more effective and relevant early childhood education practices.
