Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) serves as a crucial foundation for children’s holistic development, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. At this stage, children are in their “golden age,” during which appropriate stimulation significantly influences the development of their future potential and character. In the classroom, teachers often face various challenges, such as children’s low attention during learning activities, limited concentration, difficulty following instructions, and a lack of active participation in group activities. The purpose of this study is to identify learning issues occurring in the classroom and then design corrective actions through the application of innovative teaching methods, media, or strategies. Through this action research, teachers can directly observe changes in students’ behavior and abilities while reflecting on the effectiveness of the learning strategies employed. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted collaboratively between the researcher and the classroom teacher. The research findings indicate that sewing activities can improve children’s concentration, logical reasoning skills, fine motor skills, and enhance their hand-eye coordination. It can be concluded that the learning activities at the school have been implemented effectively and appropriately aligned with the characteristics of early childhood. This is evident from the improvement in children’s learning outcomes across all observed indicators, as well as positive changes in their attitudes, motivation, and engagement during the learning process. Teachers have become increasingly capable of designing learning activities that are engaging, contextual, and aligned with the characteristics of young children. Additionally, the implementation of the methods and strategies used (e.g., role-playing, concrete materials, the scientific approach, etc.) provides a more meaningful learning experience, making children more active and enthusiastic.
